Bodegas are urban grocery spaces for everyday survival. In this imaginative exhibition, this concept not only transcends boundaries of survival needs, but also highlights types of communal grounds and rituals. McShine's work takes us into an intimate look of New York City's most vulnerable times during the pandemic/ current moments.
Poetic, airbrushed paints capture poignant memories, as works on canvases express not only the grit of emotional uncertainty, but also resilience of community, delis, transit ways and daily life re-imagining the captivating power of The City.
This is a one night only exhibition presented by Sweven Hoboken in the second installment of the Artist in Swevendence series.
